Detectives look for man who robbed Denver convenience store

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A man told a convenience store employee early Sunday that he had a gun and a drug problem as he demanded money from the cash register, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office detectives said.

The robbery happened around 3 a.m. at the Denver Mart on North Highway 16.

When the employee handed the robber about $100 from the register, the robber ran from the store toward Highway 16.

Detectives said the man may have left in an early 2000s model Ford Crown Victoria of a Mercury Grand Marquee.

The man was described as middle-aged with medium-length brown hair. He was wearing all black or navy clothing.
