Thieves caught on camera breaking into homes used for ‘Hunger Games’ films

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Thieves have been targeting a well-known movie set in Burke County that has also been designated a historical site.

The owners of the Henry River Mill Village shared surveillance video of several people breaking into a home and stealing items.

Nine years ago, the same homes were used as part of the set for District 12 in the film, “The Hunger Games."

The property owner says each year thousands of people tour the homes, which have been broken into more than a dozen times.

The Mill Village was built in 1905 and is a historic site on the National Registry of Historic Places.
