DNA, fingerprint samples sent to lab in Cleveland Co. clerk shooting

CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cleveland County deputies hope DNA and fingerprint samples will lead them to the people who shot and killed a store clerk last month.

Investigators sent off that evidence to a lab Tuesday.

Scott Davis was killed during a robbery at the Smoker's Etc. on U.S. 74 east of Shelby.

Investigators said they don't know when the lab results will be ready.

There is a $2,500 reward being offered for information about the case.
