NORTH CAROLINA — Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has delivered nearly 25 million books to North Carolina families since expanding statewide in 2017.

The program provides free monthly books to children from birth until age 5 to foster early literacy and kindergarten readiness.

North Carolina became the first state outside of Tennessee to expand the Imagination Library statewide.

In Mecklenburg County alone, the program mails a new book to about 40,000 children every month.
