CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — A car crashed into the back of a school bus in Catawba County Thursday morning, the The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Springs Road at North Carolina Highway 16.

Troopers said a 2021 Kia Forte traveling south on Springs Road didn’t slow down and collided with a school bus that was stopped in the southbound lane.
NCSHP said the bus was from Bunker Hill High School and River Bend Middle School.
According to troopers, there were 29 children on the bus at the time of the crash and none were injured.
The driver of the Kia was cited for failure to reduce speed, troopers said.
