GASTONIA, N.C. — Residents in parts of Gastonia may begin seeing delivery drones in their area following the completion of a drone delivery facility at Walmart, located at 223 N. Myrtle School Road.
The drones will operate within approximately a 6-mile radius of the store as part of the company’s delivery service.
The City of Gastonia released the information to ensure residents understand why drones may be visible flying over or near their neighborhoods. Deliveries will be made to eligible customers within the designated area.
Walmart plans to provide more details about the drone operations directly to the public.
The company will host informational tables at the North Myrtle School Road store location and participate in upcoming community events.
