CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Businessman Edwin Peacock has announced that he's running for mayor of Charlotte.

He released a video Tuesday morning on YouTube.

Peacock ran for mayor in 2013 and lost to Patrick Cannon.

Peacock said he would bring real-world, private-sector experience to city government.

The announcement sets up a GOP primary with Scott Stone.

On the Democratic side, Michael Barnes, Dan Clodfelter, David Howard and Jennifer Roberts are planning to run.
