Estate built for famed developer is highest-priced home in Eastover

CHARLOTTE — An estate built in the 1980s for a prominent Charlotte developer is on the market, carrying the highest list price of any home for sale in the Eastover neighborhood.

That 7,780-square-foot home, which sits on 1.4 acres at the corner of Colville Road and South Dotger Avenue, hit the market on April 19 at $6 million.

The property’s listing details show it was built in 1981 for John Crosland Jr., whose legacy includes developing well-known projects such as Birkdale Village, StoneCrest, Sharon Corners, Blakeney and Latta Arcade. Crosland died in 2015 at age 86. The home was designed by longtime Charlotte architect the late Sherman Pardue.
