CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Family Dollar released its third-quarter earnings Thursday morning and the Matthews-based company met Wall Street estimates.
The chain said it earned $2.66 billion in the third quarter. Analysts expected $2.6 billion.
The store's earnings are down by almost $40 million from the same time last year.
The chain said the numbers reflect the financial challenges of its customers.
