CHARLOTTE — Dedicated fans lined up in the freezing cold Tuesday for a chance to own a piece of NASCAR history.
It’s part of a holiday tradition, where fans “undeck” the halls at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Channel 9’s Almiya White spoke with visitors, including some who drove hours, to take home one-of-a-kind NASCAR gifts.
Sebik told White she drove two hours from Anderson, South Carolina to make sure she was first in line to the 12th annual Undeck the Hall event.
“Got here at 3:00 this morning,” Deanna Sebik said.

“Huge NASCAR fan, we love coming out. It’s become a tradition for our family,” she said.
The tradition: Fans get to select a gift from one of many decorated NASCAR-themed trees. Sebik said she looks forward to seeing what she scores each year.
Whether it’s race tickets, an autographed hat or just being diehard fans -- this is a tradition families plan to keep up for years to come.
