MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Friends are mourning the death of Braydon Harding, a teenager officials say died in a fatal car accident in Myrtle Beach.
Harding had just graduated from A.L. Brown High School last week. His best friend tells Channel 9 he took the trip to Myrtle Beach with three other friends to celebrate.
"When we was little how we used to go outside, play football. My momma cooked us a Sunday dinner just about every day I stayed by him," said David Harris.
Harris says all he has left are pictures and memories of 19-year-old Harding. He says Saturday morning he found out his
best friend was dead.
"I texted him and I don't get a reply back so that's how I knew it was real," said Harris.
Myrtle Beach police tell Channel 9 Harding was riding in the back seat of his friend's Nissan Sentra on Ocean Boulevard when the driver of the car he was in ran a red light and crashed into a family of five.
Police say the family survived with minor injuries but Harding died at the scene. Harding's three friends who were in the car with him are in the hospital in serious condition.
Myrtle Beach police say the driver will be charged with felony DUI.
"He never bothered anybody. He always made people laugh. When people were down he made them smile. A really good kid," said Harris.
Harding's friends say he was wrestler and a football player in high school, and had planned to join the Army. Harris tells us he wants to reach out to the family of his best friend.
"Try and help them as much as I can. Help them when they need help. Cause I knew if the same thing happened to my family they would do the same thing for me," said Harris.
Myrtle Beach police have not made any arrests. The driver is still in the hospital.
The Harding family also tells us they have not made funeral arrangements.
