CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — A fire broke out at a home in east Charlotte Thursday night causing at least $50,000 in damage.
Fire crews told Channel 9 flames started in a back bedroom of the home on Hickory Trace Drive around 11:30 p.m.

A family of three lived in the house and was able to get out.
Fire officials have not said what caused the fire.
The Red Cross is helping the family with a place to stay.
