1 injured as fire rips through west Charlotte house

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was seriously burned after a fire ripped through through a home early Sunday morning.

Fire officials responded to the house fire in the 1700 block of Crestdale Drive after 5 a.m.

Firefighters said they removed a victim from the house within 10 minutes of arrival.

Fire officials said 23 firefighters controlled the fire within 20 minutes.

Paramedics said the victim has burns and injuries that are life-threatening.

Firefighters said an electrical problem caused the fire and there is about $50,000 in damages.
