MOORESVILLE, N.C. — One person is dead after a house fire in Mooresville on Tuesday, fire officials said.
Around 11:20 a.m., the Mount Mourne Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Foresquare Road to a home with heavy smoke and fire showing, according to a release from the department.

During a search of the home, officials said a victim was located inside.
That person was quickly removed from the home and care was performed by Mount Mourne and Iredell County first responders, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The fire was controlled before 12 p.m., officials said.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew overhead just before noon as crews worked to put out the blaze on Foursquare Road off of Highway 115.

Our crews could see the southbound lane of Highway 115 was closed as crews fought the fire. Smoke clouded the area.
The Iredell County Fire Marshal and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the fire. No additional information was immediately available.
