Family dog saved from 2-alarm fire in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters responded to the scene of a 2-alarm fire on Countryside Drive Wednesday morning.

Firefighters said heavy fire broke out in the attic of the building around 7:15 a.m.

Officials said several families have been displaced due to the fire.  A family dog was rescued from the fire.

The fire does not appear to be suspicious, officials said.
