Firefighters: Lightning caused south Charlotte house fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters told Channel 9 that lightning is to blame for a south Charlotte house fire early Tuesday morning.

The fire started just before 4 a.m. on Park Vista Circle, near Interstate 485 and Highway 51.

Firefighters said lightning strike damaged the roof but not much else.

There was one person inside during the fire but they were able to get out of the house safely.
