Firefighters rescue newborn puppies, mother stuck in driveway culvert in SC

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. — A mother dog and her puppies were rescued Friday inside a driveway culvert in Colleton County, WCIV reported.

Fire crews and animal control rescued the mother and the day-old puppies, but one of them was hard to reach. The puppy was about 20 feet inside the small drain.

Rescue crews said a neighbor gave them a sauce pan which they attached to a PVC pipe. They lowered it into the culvert, and after multiple attempts, they were able to scoop out the puppy.

The firefighters decided to name the puppy “Scoop.”
