First Lady to visit Ashe County on Tuesday to promote education technology

ASHE COUNTY, N.C. — First Lady Melania Trump will travel to Ashe County on Tuesday to promote community resiliency and education technology in schools.

She is scheduled to deliver remarks to elementary school students and visit classrooms to observe how teachers and staff are integrating technology into instruction.

The initiative is part of her focus on preparing children and youth for success in the digital era.

The visit is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.

The trip marks her first return to western North Carolina since January 2025, when she and President Donald Trump toured the damage caused by Hurricane Helene nearly two years ago.

President Trump will be in Gastonia to campaign for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Michael Whatley.
