Flames rip through Gastonia home, causing $40K in damage

GASTONIA, N.C. — Fire investigators are trying to determine what sparked an overnight house fire in Gastonia.

Firefighters were called to the home on Jason Wolf Court around 4:45 a.m. and when they arrived saw heavy flames and smoke coming out of the roof and windows.

Nobody was inside the house and it took 17 firefighters roughly 15 minutes to put out the flames.

The fire caused an estimated $40,000 in damage and the home was considered a total loss.
