Among the rezoning petitions coming up for a vote is for roughly 133 acres at University City Boulevard and Interstate 485, where Red Sea Properties is proposing a residential development. City documents indicate that plans for the site, which is largely undeveloped now, include 397 single-family detached lots and 184 townhomes, for a total of 581 units.
It’s one of several multifamily and mixed-use developments that are set to be approved or rejected.
For the public hearings portion of the meeting, Flywheel Group’s planned development along the light-rail line in NoDa is on the agenda. The firm is seeking to rezone about 15.6 acres on the southeast side of North Tryon Street, east of Matheson Avenue.
That’s across North Tryon from NoDa Brewing Co., next to a multifamily complex under construction — and within a mile of the 36th Street Station on the Lynx Blue Line.
