FORECAST:

• A line of strong storms moved across the region that brought heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. Hail was also reported in the area.
• The system pushed east in the early evening.
• There is a winter storm warning for Avery County.
• In the lower elevations, it will be clear and cold this weekend in the Charlotte area.
• Saturday’s high will be in the mid-40s.
• Temps will break the 50-degree mark on Sunday.
