FORECAST: Soggy Labor Day with chance for showers most of the day

FORECAST:

Stay cool during hot weather:

  • A very soggy setup for this Labor Day.
  • Off and on downpours will linger through this evening before winding down later.
  • Severe weather isn’t expected, but it will be wet.
  • Heavy rainfall will be likely especially in the mountains. This could lead to some flooding in the higher elevations.
  • Tuesday and the ensuing days will be drier with limited rain chances as the warmth returns.
  • Expect temperatures in the mid to upper 80s before a cool off later this weekend when the rain chances return.
  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Stay in an air-conditioned room
  • Stay out of the sun
  • Check on relatives and neighbors
  • Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
  • Be careful when outside.
  • If possible, reschedule strenuous activities until early morning or evening.
  • Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
  • Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible.
