CHARLOTTE, N.C. — FRIDAY NIGHT: A line of showers continues to move out of the mountains and into the Charlotte metro area during the late evening hours. Storms have been producing strong wind gusts, lightning and very heavy rain.
The highest rainfall totals will stay in the mountains, with 1 to 1.5 inches possible.
Scattered showers will linger through the start of the day on Saturday as temperatures hold steady in the 60s.

SATURDAY: Showers will slowly clear through the midday and early afternoon hours. Expect a break of sun by the second half of the day as highs stay in the middle 70s.
A flood watch is in effect for Ashe and Watauga counties through early Saturday. The mountains will see the highest rainfall totals, near 1-1.5 inches of rain.
SUNDAY: Mother's Day looks great, with sunshine and temps in the low 80s.
