RALEIGH, N.C. — A former East Carolina University football player died Friday night in what investigators believe was a targeted attack carried out by multiple people.
Anthony Domonique Lennon, 24, from Suffolk, Virginia, was found shot to death near the Bahama Breeze restaurant in north Raleigh.
A witness told police she heard at least 10 gunshots and then saw people running across the parking lot.
No arrests have been made.
Lennon played defensive back at East Carolina from 2011 to 2015.
Lennon started 12 games at safety for the Pirates in 2014, recording 65 tackles and played in all 12 games in 2015, finishing with 27 tackles.
