Four campers injured in possible tornado along North Carolina coast

HATTERAS, N.C. — Four people were hurt early Saturday morning at a campground in Hatteras, North Carolina, possibly due to a tornado.

Four people camping at the Hatteras Sands Campground were taken to a nearby clinic with minor injuries, Channel 9's partners at ABC 13 reported.

A tornado warning was in place for the area until 1:45 a.m.

Some buildings were damaged in the storm.

Local hotels have offered shelter for people staying at the campground.
