CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte warmed up to the mid-50s for Friday afternoon – the coolest it has been since April.
The mountains saw snow Friday morning. While the amount did not add up to much, the snow caused slick travel in the highest elevations.
Dry but chilly weather remains in place Friday, as Charlotte will not hit 60 degrees.
A freeze warning remains in place from Charlotte to the south.
The area could see near-record lows Friday night with temperatures in the upper 20s. The record is 29.
Saturday will see temperatures near 60 degrees, and Sunday’s highs will be in the upper 60s. There will be a return to 70s by Monday.
The next chance of rain will come with a pretty strong cold front that will move in next Thursday.
