MATTHEWS, N.C. — Matthews-based Family Dollar' and Dollar Tree agreed not to close on a proposed merger before the end of the year.
This is the second review by the Federal Trade Commission of the possible merger.
They're looking at how prices might change after the acquisition.
Unless the FTC completes the review and terminates the waiting period, the companies can't join until after Dec. 30.
