CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Latin won its second straight North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association State Championship Friday night in the WSOC-TV High School Football Extra Game of the Week.
Latin (9-4), a year after edging Charlotte Christian 28-27 in the Division I finals a year ago, thumped Charlotte Country Day 33-0 on Friday.

After the game, Charlotte Latin coach Larry McNulty announced his retirement.
The Hawks scored all of their points in the first half.
More than 310,000 votes were cast, as Charlotte Country Day and Charlotte Latin received nearly 160,000 of those tallies.
Latin beat Country Day (7-6) 48-30 earlier this season. The Hawks have won seven straight in the series.
Country Day last beat Latin in 2013, a 24-21 victory for the Buccaneers.
Latin beat Wake Christian Academy, 30-7, and Trinity Christian, 27-16, earlier in the postseason. Country Day beat Metrolina Christian Academy, 39-25, and Cannon, 25-16, in the first two rounds of the state playoffs.
