CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Providence High School won on the road for the first time this season, defeating West Mecklenburg 38-14 in the WSOC-TV High School Football Extra Game of the Week.

The Panthers (5-3) entered the showdown unbeaten at home and winless on the road. They finally notched that victory Friday after dropping two of their previous three road games by three points or less.
West Meck (6-3), led by Big 22 Player to Watch Dyami Brown, had its two-game win streak snapped.
More than 20,000 votes were cast for this matchup to be the game of the week.
