Gastonia City Council opposes property tax cap referendum

GASTONIA, N.C. — As state lawmakers advance a tax relief referendum, a local city is coming out against it.

The Gastonia City Council unanimously passed a resolution against a property tax cap.

This is one of the constitutional amendments that voters will decide on in November.

The Gastonia City Council expressed concern about its impact on public safety.
