GASTONIA — A Gaston County restaurant owner's wife turned herself in Thursday after failing to appear in court on Monday.
Regina Lavecchia, 44, of Charlotte is facing seven felony drug charges following her arrest Friday.
Channel 9 obtained arrest warrants that stated Lavecchia packaged, sold and distributed cocaine to an informant in May 2014.
Sources told Channel 9 Eyewitness News reporter Ken Lemon the activity happened near Nick's Steak and Seafood, which is owned by the woman's husband, as well as in close proximity to a preschool.
The restaurant is across the street from City Hall and a couple blocks from First United Methodist Church preschool.
The owner of Nick's, Lavecchia's husband, leases the building from the city. He is not mentioned in the warrants, a spokesperson with the city said.
Channel 9 went to the restaurant in hopes of reaching the Lavecchia family but neither Regina nor her husband were there.
The investigation is ongoing.
