UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies have a new tool to help them catch speeding drivers on Indian Trail roads.
New decals on cruisers are called "ghost graphics." They are clear at night because they reflect light, but during the day they're hard to see, which allows patrol cars to blend in with traffic.
“It gives these officers, these deputies, an opportunity to be discreet in neighborhoods, to watch for aggressive drivers, watch for speeding motorists," said Tony Underwood with the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
There are already a few white patrol cars with ghost graphics in Indian Trail.
Darker colored cruisers will be released after more equipment is installed.
