CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It’s a dream come true for a little girl who has gone through more in her 11 years than most of us will go through in a lifetime.
Kristina was diagnosed with leukemia at 8 years old and finished treatment in May.
“Well, I really like swimming and I think dolphins are so cute, so it will be really fun to swim with them,” Kristina said.
She was referred to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2014 but had to delay her wish because she wasn't well enough to travel.
Now she's headed to the Bahamas to swim with dolphins.
Kristina was treated to a sendoff party today at Northlake Mall.
Her family said the trip has given them something positive to think about during her difficult treatment.
