CONCORD, N.C. — If you feel like you were born a few centuries too late, here’s your chance to release your inner squire, maiden, blacksmith, or wench.
The Carolina Renaissance Festival is celebrating its 30th year this summer, and auditions are opening to be a part of the fictional village of Fairhaven.

They’re looking for amateur and professional actors, street performers, cosplayers, historical reenactors, musicians, singers, dancers, and others. After the auditions, the accepted cast members will take part in free workshops this summer to help prepare; the sessions include things like costuming, language, accent, character development, improv, and others.
Auditions are being held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on June 17 and June 24 at the Cannon School, which is at 5801 Poplar Tent Road in Concord. The minimum age to audition is 13.
