Got milk? 4,000 gallons being given away to families in Iredell County today

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Families in Iredell County can pick up 4 gallons of free milk Friday morning. It’s all part of a collaboration with local dairies and Horizon Church.

The giveaway is happening from 9 a.m. until noon at the Iredell County Fairgrounds in Troutman.

There will be 4,000 gallons of milk to give away, with each car allowed to take 4 gallons.

“This was an idea of Borden’s to utilize some of the funding they received from the USDA at the beginning of the pandemic to help get milk out to the communities,” Nancy Keith with NC Cooperative Extension Service said.

The distribution will be contactless as volunteers will load the milk into the vehicles.
