Grocery delivery startup Farmstead pulls out of Charlotte

Charlotte, N.C. — An online grocer that arrived in Charlotte in the fall of 2020 — and expanded its hours and service area the following spring, citing stronger-than-expanded demand — is now packing it in.

Business Insider reported recently that Farmstead is shuttering its operations in all markets except the San Francisco Bay Area, where the company is based.

It has already ceased grocery deliveries in Charlotte and in the Raleigh-Durham area as well as in Miami and Chicago, according to Bay Area Inno. The company is also said to be cutting about 22% of its operational staff.
