CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A groundbreaking was held Thursday for a mixed-use development near uptown Charlotte.
The Gateway West Apartments will be at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Johnson & Wales Way, near Johnston & Wales University.
The project is a five-story building that will have 280 luxury apartment units over two levels of parking and 8,000 square feet of retail space. The development will feature an elevated, heated pool with views of uptown and a private courtyard.
The Gateway West Apartments are expected to be complete in the spring of 2014.
