CHARLESTON, S.C. — Two groups clashed over the confederate flag in South Carolina Sunday.

The South Carolina secessionist party hoisted flags at parking garages at the College of Charleston today.

They said it hoisted the flags because the College of Charleston invited Charlotte native Bree Newsome to speak there next week.

The secessionist party has also been trying to get the confederate flag displayed in the South Carolina State Museum.

Newsome climbed a flag pole to remove the statehouse confederate flag in 2015, just days after the racially-motivated shooting of nine parishioners at Emanuel AME church in Charleston.
