CHARLOTTE — Harris Teeter expects to hire more than 5,000 employees for retail and distribution positions across its footprint. The Matthews-based grocer, a subsidiary of The Kroger Co., is looking to fill those slots amid high demand for essential food and household products tied to the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19, outbreak.
“We are committed to helping our neighbors-in-need, including the many restaurant and food service industry employees that have been displaced from their jobs, ” says Rod Antolock, president of Harris Teeter.
