CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte Fire said a section of North Tryon Street was shut down for several hours Friday morning while crews worked to put out a fire at an auto salvage shop.
Firefighters responded to the scene on 28th Street where they said several vehicles were on fire behind the shop. North Tryon was closed between West 27th Street and West 28th Street.
Thick smoke and flames could be seen coming from the building, and several fire trucks were at the scene.

No one was hurt, according to officials.
Firefighters are still investigating how the fire started.
