CHARLOTTE — One person was hurt after a crash shut down part of East Independence Boulevard in east Charlotte late Thursday night.

Police had blocked off a section of the road centered near Margaret Wallace Road, between East W.T. Harris Boulevard and Village Lake Drive.
MEDIC told Channel 9 that one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officers blocked multiple lanes as they investigate, but it’s not clear what led to the crash at this time.
