Helicopter gets stuck on railroad track in Long View, police say

LONG VIEW, N.C. — A helicopter got stuck on a railroad track in Long View, according to police.

The helicopter, which belonged to the North Carolina Forest Service, got stuck along 33rd Street Southwest.

Police said they immediately reached out to Norfolk Southern to prevent a train from striking the helicopter.

The helicopter was stuck for around 30 minutes before being removed. It was taken to Hickory Regional Airport, according to police.
