CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Highland Renaissance Academy was briefly placed on lockdown Thursday morning while police searched for a suspect in north Charlotte.
The lockdown was requested by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and lifted after 45 minutes.

Chopper 9 flew over the scene in a wooded area off of North Tryon Street north of Atando Avenue.
The school is located on the north end of the wooded area.
Police have not said who they are searching for.
The search was called off after police did not find the person they were looking for.
