BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — Burke Rescue and First Responders from Avery County helped an injured hiker after a fall near Linville Falls.
Crews responded off the Blue Ridge Parkway to the recently reopened Plunge Basin trail at Linville Falls after a hiker suffered an injury from a fall.
Burke Rescue and Burke EMS worked together to safely package the patient into a Stokes basket before carrying the person a half-mile over rugged terrain.
The hiker was then transported to a nearby hospital.
No word on the extent of the hiker’s injuries.
