CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for whoever shot and killed and man Wednesday night in Charlotte’s Grier Heights neighborhood.
The shooting happened at 9:40 p.m. along Skyland Avenue near Randolph Road, according to police.
When officers arrived they found 28-year-old Marcus Withers in the yard. They said he had been shot several times.
He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

Channel 9 could see crime scene tape up around the scene and investigators looking for evidence and witnesses.
No arrests have been made and police have not said yet what led to the shooting.
