How the city of Charlotte is spending the $50M affordable housing bond

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The city of Charlotte has already spent more than half of the $50 million in affordable housing bond money that voters approved last year.

There are three projects made possible thanks to Charlotte voters.

"I am very satisfied with the progress the city is making," said Mayor Vi Lyles.

Since taking office, Lyles has championed affordable housing in the city.

She said Charlotte has become a model for the nation.
