Huntersville biz to pay out $10,000 after forklift accident

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Huntersville company has to pay almost $10,000 in fines after a deadly forklift accident.

The labor department cited Huntersville Hardwoods on Old Statesville Road with four serious violations.

An investigation found the company failed to equip the truck operator with a seat belt or provide refresher training courses.

The driver’s front view was obstructed and warehouse aisles were not marked for safety, the report stated.

The company has 15 days to appeal.
