Olde Huntersville Historic Society officials aren’t sure when the capsule was buried, but they guess it could have been between 1990 and 1995. An even bigger mystery is what is inside.
Kathy Jones, with the Olde Huntersville Historic Society, says she is thankful for everyone who brought the issue to the society’s attention so the capsule could be saved and preserved.
The capsule is going to be reburied at the new JM Alexander Middle School and will be opened in 2020.
The Olde Huntersville Historic Society hopes there will be an event held at the school in 2020 to celebrate the time capsule and examine its contents.
