HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Police in Huntersville are searching for a 24-year-old woman accused of stabbing someone late Tuesday night.
Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Cassandra Jean Risso on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
Police say the stabbing happened just before midnight at a home on Windy Lea Lane. When they arrived, they said they found a resident of home with a stab wound. They were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Risso, who police say knew the victim, then fled the scene before officers arrived, but the weapon used was found at the scene.
Investigators believe Risso could be in the Gilead Ridge area. She is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and sweatpants, tan boots and carrying a backpack.
Officials say she should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 911.
