Indian Trail man’s $10 scratch-off pays off in a big way

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — An Indian Trail man’s bank account just increased by $750,000.

Yohanes Haile, from Indian Trail, won the money from a Jumbo Bucks scratch-off ticket that he bought at a Food Lion in Indian Trail. He spent $10 to buy the scratch-off.

After taxes, Haile took home $530,628.

Each year, the North Carolina Education Lottery raises approximately $725 million for education.
